Nneka Otogbolu is an accomplished leader in strategic operations and equity advancement, bringing extensive experience to her role as Chief Operating Officer at the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC). With a
track record of driving impactful initiatives, Nneka transitions to FFBC from her previous role as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Equity Advancement at the Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF).
During her tenure at ECF, Nneka played a pivotal role in connecting donors to causes promoting equity and social justice. She provided strategic leadership, leading ECF’s Research and community engagement projects, Evaluations and Impact
Assessment, and forging Collaborations and Partnerships with equity-deserving organizations and charities supporting marginalized communities in Edmonton. Nneka fostered a culture of equity and reconciliation, collaborating closely with local charities and non-profits to address systemic barriers and drive positive change.
Prior to her role at ECF, Nneka served as the Executive Director of a community-focused science charity in Vancouver Island, BC, showcasing her commitment to community development and social impact. With over 15 years of experience in the Nigerian banking system, specializing in small and medium-sized businesses, Nneka brings a unique perspective to her role, blending financial expertise with a passion for social change.
Nneka holds an MSc. in International Management from the University of Hertfordshire and an MBA from Vancouver Island University, both awarded with Distinctions. She has led diverse teams across different industry sectors and has been recognized for her contributions to community development, receiving the 2017 Canadian Bureau of International Education’s Elizabeth Patterson Award for Internationalization for her work on Vancouver Island.
As Chief Operating Officer at FFBC, Nneka is dedicated to driving operational excellence and advancing equity-focused initiatives that empower Black communities across Canada. With her strategic vision and leadership acumen, she is poised to make a meaningful impact on FFBC’s mission of investing in change-making initiatives and ensuring sustained resources for Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-focused organizations.
She is a supermom of three children and loves to read, watch movies and cook.
